Medium: water mixable oil paint

Statement: The main figure of the girl is shown to be looking up in a gloomy background contrasted with the bright-hued lighting. The background of the red branches and berries “blend in” to her face like veins of blood, conveying how she is affected by her environment and dragged down by it. However, she gazes at the three birds that symbolizes hope, inner peace, and opportunities in hard times. Painting something gloomy but hopeful at the same time has been the motivation for me throughout the process.
