Style: Poetry Statement: In “the buzzing” I give form to my intrusive thoughts as a persistent, physical buzzing sound that follows me through my everyday life. Inspired by my own experience with what may be tinnitus, I wanted to convey the relentless, attention-seeking, and bothersome nature of these thoughts, giving readers a sense of something they can’t escape. the buzzing it follows me around and infiltrates my senses piercing my peace of mind without a second thought
